Our local community, its culture and people have largely been shaped by the Hunter wine industry. The Hunter Valley is Australia’s oldest wine region, so its history and heritage are integral to understanding not only how wine has developed but how the local region has evolved.
Australian leading wine historian, academic at the University of Newcastle and co-author of Hunter Wine: a history, Dr Julie McIntyre traces the Hunter wine industry from 1828 through six generations uncovering the historical and technological developments that have culminated in today’s thriving local community.
Presented in conjuction with Maitland Goal Seaonal Harvest Dinner with the option to book for the talk, dinner or both events.
